How to protect your bank account from being emptied in seconds?

Mobile banking apps can empty your account in seconds. Check for hidden settings immediately. A hidden setting on your mobile phone can empty your account in minutes. Check it immediately before you lose your savings. You only need to enter a few codes to see if your information is being stolen. If you discover that your data has been compromised, what should you do to protect yourself? The question is: What should you do if you detect any suspicious activity on your bank account?

What is the actual story?

Check call forwarding immediately and turn off the following suspicious settings. All this can be done by dialing a simple Call dialer, which is called a call forwarding scam.

How hackers can get your OTP through calls?

Hackers call you pretending to be bank representatives, customer care executives or delivery boys. They very wisely assure you that there is a problem with your account or network, which you have to dial a specific code, *21#, from your phone to fix. Users do not take the call seriously by unknown people and dial the codes that have been mentioned in the conversation of the person in front of them. This carelessness can prove to be harmful for you. After this, your calls, messages and OTPs start being transferred to another number(to the hacker/scammer). And you don't even know it. When call forwarding is activated, all your bank OTP and verification calls start forwarding to the hacker's number instead of yours.

To avoid this scam, check if your calls are being forwarded. Here are the codes. To check your phone's security, dial *#62# (if unavailable), *#61# (if no answer), and *#67# (if busy). Use ##002# to disable all call forwarding.

  • *#21#: Check unconditional call forwarding (overall status).
  • *#62#: Check if calls are forwarded when your phone is unreachable/switched off.
  • *#61#: Check if calls are forwarded when not answered.
  • *#67#: Check if calls are forwarded when the line is busy.

If an unknown number appears on the screen after you dial, it means your calls are being received elsewhere. Go to your phone's call settings and check the call forwarding option. If an unknown number appears, remove it immediately. If you suspect your phone has been hacked or that call forwarding is active, immediately dial ##002#: This is the universal code to deactivate call forwarding. ##21#: Deactivates all call forwarding.

  • ##002#: This is the universal code to deactivate all call forwarding.
  • ##21#: Deactivate all forwarding.

Bonus Tip:

Do not dial any codes on your phone if you receive a call from an unknown number. If someone asks you to enter a code under the pretext of a delivery or network call, hang up immediately. Never share your OTP code or PIN with anyone. If you are the victim of a scam, contact the cyber crime police immediately.

Bottom Line:

Previously, I mentioned a recent scam that has been detected online and directly affects customers through phone calls. Ignoring this small mistake could have serious consequences for you. I recommend that you review the codes I provided earlier; if you find anything suspicious, I've also included the deactivation codes. Deactivate it immediately. If you believe you have already been the victim of a scam, call the cybercrime unit or visit your nearest police station; they will advise you on the right way. Good luck!
